Gautama the Buddha has no learning towards abstraction, philosophy or metaphysics, he is very practical towards life, Buddha's teachings are practical and authentically scientific. his approach is not that of a thinker, his approach is existential.. when he attained and became a Buddha, it is said that the GOD OF THE GODS, Brahma came to him and asked him,' who is your witness? you declare that you have become a Buddha. but who is your witness.? Buddha laughed, touched the earth with his hands and said," this solid earth is my witness. Buddha was very scientific he made the earth his witness. his approach is really beautiful and aesthetically authentic. it is really beautiful meditation. this is but Buddha means when he says, become a driftwood. float in the streams like timber and wherever the stream goes let it take you, you don't make any effort, the whole Buddhist approach belongs to the receptive mode. all his images are of sitting, sitting and doing nothing. he's simply sitting and doing nothing. and doing nothing just sit silently is the real meditation. you are also a Buddha , there is Buddha in you, feel his presence and make the life holly. this is meditation, and this is the ultimate path.
